5 Dislikes & 5 Likes - Vinfast VF8

Borrowed from an owner & fellow EV enthusiast, I go over five dislikes and 5 likes he has about the Vinfast VF8. He likes the car so much it took some time to come up with the dislikes to get to five. It is a car that he is very fond of for good reason.

American, Japanese, Korean car producers have so many years of experiences in making cars, this Vietnamese producer is a rockie they just start their business 3 4 year ago, they improving, just give them time.

You can add the temperature easily by adding weather widget. Put your finger in the screen for a few seconds and you’ll see the icon wiggle. There is the Add Widget at the bottom of the screen. Click on that and scroll to the weather and move it to wherever you want on the screen. If you can add, that means your screen is full then you have to delete one to add one.

Great reviewer for VF8 2023 with current special 249 dollars lease per month . 2024 VF8 has added new shocks and has new battery CATL for faster charge and longer range compatible with Tesla model Y . VF8 is 1000 lbs heavier with thick door to protect driver like a tank . Unfortunately no special deal for 2024 VF8

Seems a fair review and the 'likes' and 'dislikes' are reasonable. I suspect the outside temperature could be added to the screen with an update because there is a sensor. When it is near freezing outside, we get a 'Warning: Possible Ice on the Road' on the screen, so the car 'knows' :)

I would love a small explanation of why a prior Taycan owner would be getting a VF8? Certainly great to hear they have had so many different EVs!

I leased a 2024 VF 8 a couple of weeks ago. They are still leasing them for $249 a month, which is an unusually good deal. I paid for several upgrades, optional color, optional interior color, and mine is the Plus trim, which has some nice improvements, bigger wheels, more horsepower, power lift gate, etc. Also I paid extra to increase the allowed mileage to 15k per year. My total lease payment is $399 a month, which I still consider a good deal. This video is quite accurate, I have similar likes and dislikes, though the software has been improved a lot since 2023. It’s very early in my leasing experience, but so far I’m very satisfied with the car. It’s a nice looking car, I get lots of compliments. The performance is impressive. It’s my first EV so I don’t have any preconceived comparisons.

I THINK YOU DON'T SPEND ENOUGH TIME TO KNOW THE CAR, the same when you change to iOS from Android or Android from iOS.
Phone Charger : VF8 cannot regconize iphone both full charge and empty because iOS disconnect to charge when it reaches 100%
Navigation : Look like smartphone, mean, you need to move short to repoint GPS.
Charger : When you install your profile, connect to internter, setup alarm to % charger, VF8 will show recommend next charger station with your setup.

Do you know what SW version was in this VF8? I have never seen that cellphone "charging fault" 🤷‍♂️. Software .15 or .18 may fix some of your other dislikes too. 🙂
