As a nurse, this all very odd. I cannot imagine cleaning a patient's butt after a bout of diarrhea with stones. And how would that work with the women Muslim patients i have taken care of who refuse to wear a patient gown and are covered from head to toe? What if I were Muslim and couldn't wear scrubs?

Where do you keep the buckets of stones necessary for this task? How do you sterilize them afterwards? Do you have orderlies making regular rounds to pick up piles of used stones? Can they go in an autoclave? We can't even keep the laundry hampers emptied fast enough.

I have constant back pain from 45 years of nursing and back breaking labor. I would probably be in a wheelchair from lifting buckets and buckets of stones.

I don't do drugs, but I would have to be stoned one way or the other to continue in my profession if we didn't have that new-fangled, light weight, toilet paper.

what do you do if the stone you were using fractured during the wipe? do you count it as one or a two? what if you were about to pic up a good wiping stone but sudenly there is a scorpion under it? are you supposed to leave it and move away, even if running the risk of facing mecca while unclean, or you risk it and wipe clamly despite the scorpion?

Funny thing is. Bidet has originally been a European thing. After that, the Japanese started using bidets and water jets to clean their butts. After that, the South Asians and SE Asians, and middle easterners started using hand held shower jets to clean their butts.
To think that islam invented proper butt cleaning is stupid. Arabia didn't had water; they cleaned their butt with stones and rocks. Also, i can understand that people in northern hemisphere would use paper because during snowy seasons, its bad for your health to use freezing water on your butt.
Although my favourite method is using water/bidet/handheld shower jet for butt and then wiping the butt with toilet paper. This way you use water to clean and then paper to dry off water. This way you also use much less toilet paper
