Hi Mike, As the loco of the year it might be a close 'race' with the upcoming Accurascale. But indeed this is a real winner and Dapol excels in quality for a very reasonable price. The 'big' manufactures are thought a lesson in 'modesty and respect' for us 'model railroaders'. Dapol proves that enjoying model trains is still possible and we must fully support them ! These days - and for several reasons - I tend not to buy many new locos, but on the strength of your review, as well as others such as Sam's Trains & Jenny Kirk, I bought the lined black /early crest Hook Norton Manor (I've got more than my fair share of GWR / BR green locos!). And you were right: it's fabulous!

Please keep up the great work. Your channel is an excellent watch.

hi, great video, who worries about the correct colour, it looks great, i have a Triang/hornby class 37 made in 1970 in br blue so what if its not in the correct shade.love the music at the end of the video, takes me back in time.

I find it odd how people get so hung up on colour. These things worked out in the sun and all weather. Colour changes. Even if it's "wrong" now, who's to say it's not just faded.

Hi Mike - It does indeed look a very good price . What I do like is the ease that a DCC decoder may be installed where so many manufacturers make it so difficult and likely to damage the loco. To be fair Accurascale have done the same with their Deltic and at a reasonable price as is the Dapol Manor.

I agree Mike this is a strong contender though so is the Accurascale class 55 and there are a few months of the year left. I hope Dapol continue like this, it goes to show that if a small manufacturer can do this with the extra cost involved in smaller quantity's etc in subcontracting the larger company's are indeed taking us for a ride especially as one of them is owned by the company producing their models so no third party involved.

Yes, a strong contender. There's 4 months to go however in which we'll see Dapol 59, Accurascale 37, Cavalex 56. They'll have to be good though. ATB, Andy.

It is certainly a contender and if we are asking models for 2022 (I can only talk steam) it depends what gets to market in the next few months. Accurascale Manor? Rapido industrial Hunslet? Not sure if many other new steam this year🤔

I think it’s a great model which is good value at the crazy prices today.
Other companies will end up losing out as less and less can afford to buy items.

Dapol need to make a castle or perhaps a saint would please modellers

Think Dapol are something to look at more now as HORNBY and Bachman have not been 100% of this last few years

Certainly could be a contender especially -as you say - on price, but my money is on the Accurascale Deltic taking 1st prize.

All we need now is hornby and bacman to price them selves out of business, then Dapol can take over and we'll have reasonable priced locomotives once again .

Although I don't collect 00 gauge, my impression from your channel and others, is that Dapol are now the best all round maker of 00 gauge loco's and wagons - certainly amongst the mainstream makers. With cost as part of that equation. And - by the way - I don't think firebox glow is a gimmick.
