Nicely done! Take the springs off at the rear and add a turn buckle, it will allow you to tension the blade effectively and get better cutting. You can tell the tension by "ringing" the blade like a bicycle spoke. You could also use a piece of all thread or a long thread bolt between the 2 arms if you can't find a turn buckle.

I would think of adding blade guides under the plate and a way of adding tension to the blade would help keep the blade from twisting and make your cuts more accurate
