I feel so bad for her. This is why child influencers need legal protections.

Her brother is horrible. I get that he was a teenager at the time, but he’s an adult now and is still trying to exploit his baby sister. Horrible.

The case of Lil Tay's exploitation, ever since she was only nine years old, is uncomfortably common for the internet.

The fact so many people ate up a CHILD acting like that is highly concerning.

I feel so bad for Lil Tay honestly; being used by the people who are supposed to ensure your wellbeing in such a public way is a nightmare.

please do an update!!! she just released a music video and she's definitely still getting used for profit. She went live and "exposed" her father. Whole thing is sus and uncomfortable.

Child influencers are this generation's child stars, and it's heartbreaking

I'm not accusing her former manager of the hoax, but he is 100% guilty of being a total clown for promoting cryptocurrency in the year 2023 🥴

I think we won't learn her truths until she becomes an adult and finally gets away from all those people infkuencing her.

As a family law attorney, the dad was likely waiting to make any sort of statement until he’d fully investigated the matter and decided whether or not to file something on the custody case. That part makes complete sense to me. Nothing else about this situation does though 😂

Knowing that there are parents in this world that will willingly destroy their children's lives for something as simple as fame and money will forever disgust me.

Despite her controversial past I literally teared up thinking about a young exploited kid being taken from this earth without being able to live her life for herself. But to find out it was fake? That’s so evil I just hope she’s safe tbh

Can we all make a pact to not mock Tay when she becomes an adult and inevitably starts dealing with all this childhood trauma and the mental health difficulties it has caused? We've had too many child stars get laughed at for the psychological dysfunction their abusive childhood caused. This is how she's being taught to interact with the world, it takes a LOT to undo that damage.

It sounds like every single adult with even an ounce of responsibility in her life decided “fuck that, we’re gonna endanger a CHILD”

All of Jason's "proof" vacation photos were posted in 2013-2015, years before lil tay was even an idea. Jason's a liar I don't trust that kid at all

I was the same age as her brother back when these videos were made, and even I had the common sense to realize what he was doing was wrong. being 16 or 17 isn't a excuse for what he was doing, at that age you know better, he wasn't a child SHE was the child.

Edit: y’all need to stop playing dumb, you know what I meant by what I said and I’m not going to continue arguing pointless semantics with you on whether a 16-17 year old is a child or not. I’ve been pretty clear about where I stand on this and I don’t care if you agree with me or not.

I don't even know if Dr. Phil was involved but I blame him for the pattern of convincing adults its ok and healthy to hate on "bad" kids. At least by 20 when you have had 2 years to realize you are an adult, you need to cut it out.

Child "influencers" need legal protections and labor laws so bad. The way family blogs use their kids for content always rubbed me the wrong way, they are too young to consent to having their whole childhood posted for millions of people. Unfortunately anything meaningful happening at the national level is unlikely right now. Change cannot come soon enough for these poor kids.

Katya once proposed that children should simply not be allowed to appear in media, no matter how much their parents assert that it’s their dream, etc etc. Great, like, let them dream about it then, until they’re of age. There’s just practically no way for a child to be a star without it being exploitation, from their family, the studio/label/platform, etc. If the worst outcome is that it becomes harder to create media appearing to feature children, I’d say that’s a much smaller price to pay than damaging actual kids in situations like this.

I feel bad for her. She was controlled by her horrible family. Like family channels and instagram influencers, they were objectifying her for clout. Also, her 16 year old brother was an asshole. Im sorry to say that about him, but what he did was completely wrong. Now he or her mother (who is also in the wrong) use her in an almost terrifying way is just sad.
