Motorola Edge 30 Neo Unboxing & Tour | Pixel 6a Rival!

Unboxing the Motorola Edge 30 Neo, one of the best mid-range smartphones if you want a compact option with strong gaming chops and features like wireless battery charging. Although the Pixel 6a is still the greatest for camera action. The Moto Edge 30 Neo is the most budget-friendly of those new Motorola Edge phones and the most mini as well. But it still packs good specs, is a good gamer option and slips into even small pockets, as my hands-on review reveals.

For a UK price of £350 you can have a slick media machine with pOLED screen and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers (although headphones are still of course best). The Motorola Edge 30 Neo can handle Genshin Impact and other intense Android games thanks to its Snapdragon 695 chipset. You'll not be able to play on high detail settings, but gamers should still be happy for this mid-range cost.

That camera sadly is a bit more basic than the Pixel 6a, but the Moto Edge 30 Neo can handle conditions that aren't too taxing. Video recording does top off at 1080p however.

Battery life is respectable, at least so far in my early tests. And you have fast wired charging, plus wireless charge support if you're gonna ditch the cables.

I have been using this device for a few weeks now. After my Asus ZenFone 8 flip got crushed in an accident, i decided to go for a smaller (and more budget friendly) device. Sure, on paper the Asus with his Snapdragon 888 beats the shit out of the Neo. But to be honest. The Neo surprised me a lot. The Snapdragon 695 apparently is enough for a real smooth smartphone experience. I hardly notice any difference speed wise with the Asus. Besides the wonderful flip camera on the ZenFone, my experience overall with the Neo is a huge step up. Much easier to handle due to his small size and only 155 grams. Battery endurance is also very impressive. Considering the fact i only sleep 4 hours a night. The remaining 20 hours of the day aren't enough for me to drain the battery completely. At this price range, the device is awesome! 120 hertz Poled display, very fast charging, stereo speakers supporting Dolby Atmos, quite clear Android experience with no Chinese spyware as a bonus!! I've been using Huawei, LG, HTC, Xiaomi, Sony, Samsung and Asus smartphones before this one. I think this one so far surprises me the most. Followed by Asus and the list ending with that terrible piece of crap, the Sony Experia 5 ii.

My all time favourate feature in any tech, ever, is the double Karate chop to turn on the "torch" on Motorola devices. I hope whoever came up with it was given a big fat bounus.

I really wish Motorola would spend a bit less on releasing so many phones and a bit more on their software team. Hopefully the two OS updates they promise are good, but one of those will be Android 13 which is the current version. So it will really only get one true OS update. But the three years of security updates shows promise, as long as they're not months late like they used to always be.

So many beautiful Edges to pick for my upgrade and I am completely overwhelmed tbh, Motorola has wayyy too many Edge models but I am not complaining. I am just like got damn there's so many awesome models to pick from, I'm narrowing it down to this or the 2022 Edge 5G 256GB for $500 by Verizon.

Finally a well balanced mid range compact phone. Hope other brands try their hand at this segment as well for once! Was disappointing to see Apple quit the mini series, but I wish android would still try!
