you're a god. I'm in Pre-Calc right now, and you saved me from failing a quiz on hyperbolas. Thank you so much!

I am a math teacher in the inner-city. This is a very good example of how to find an equation for a hyperbola. Very good job.

why do all the good teachers end up on youtube, and the assholes end up with us in class rooms. only so we have to go look for good teachers on youtube.

isnt b wrong because the asymptote is b/a and -b/a so b shoud have been 1.

You would use a different equation for the asyptotes

@Vamploverboy Rewrite it as (x^2/1)-(y^2/1)=1, although I imagine you would already have found the answer somewhere in the intervening 5 months.

great videos!!...
Id like to request a problem about ellipse.
finding the equation of an ellipse that is not centered at (0, 0) and
if you where given only a two foci and two arbitrary points(x, y)
I would really like an example of this type...
can anyone help with a video please...
Thanks!!

Bothers me so much that mathematicians say "ASSem tote" for aye-SIMP-tote, as bad as hearing lawyers butcher Latin because "muh tradition" of mispronunciation.
