Being bored at work is a 1st world problem. I've qualified for many jobs I deeply wanted but were given to internal favorites. Now I'm happy just to get a good check at a job that lacks stress. It's a happy medium.

I’m a fireman, I can get with her on the messiah complex. I’ll explain, your reputation means everything in jobs like this. Most of these guys hold themselves higher than most ppl. We are told to be better, act better and appear better than others. Heres the thing alcoholism, drug use along with infidelity runs rampant in these careers. Why? Because we can’t talk about being stressed remember? We have to be “stronger” than everyone else. What if we go get help? Say good bye to any promotion, or for police their firearm and arrest powers. We are then looked at by our peers as weak individuals. That’s why most of us will be alcoholics and or divorced by the time we retire. My dream job? Would be anything other than what I’m doing now. But ppl like me are stuck. Most of us didn’t go to college and contrary to popular belief firefighting isn’t a “trade” its a trap. Stay in school kids, I’m one of the very few ppl that will tell you I hate my job but I do.

Recently took a job that I doubled my income on. Been there six months now and I feel like I made a terrible decision. I feel SO bored and stagnant, this video could not have come at a better time because I am very much considering leaving. I’m 30 and feel like i need to be some where I have meaning/purpose and passion. I was much happier making half of what I am making now.

Once I took my kids with me to a job interview. They were little too. I wanted a job so bad and the person who was supposed to watch my kids flaked out. At the end of the interview the guy still offered me the job.
