Avengers' Cancelled First Person Action Game - Unseen64

The Avengers' cancelled first person action game from THQ for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U is explored by Liam. The game would have loosely followed the Secret Invasion storyline from the Marvel comic books, and was meant to be released around the same time as the first Avengers movie. The game was being developed in 2010 and 2011, but was never announced. It was intended to be a big budget AAA game with a 2+ year life cycle. Liam Robertson is a video game researcher and archiver. The fact that this game got canned is tragic. A first-person, teamwork-based game like this is ideal for a Marvel or DC IP. I really hope they bring this idea back in some form or another, because this looks brilliant. Although it would be hampered by modern DLC practices, it still looks like tons of fun. Plus, having Brian Michael Bendis writing the story and dialogue basically guarantees it won't be bad.

im almost to tears. this sounds and feels like it would've been a killer app. local co op, split screen, online multiplayer. it sounds like a first person marvel ultimate alliance.

I'm pretty sure I used to own that figure, in fact I maybe still do! I had no idea it was at all connected to the game, I really just thought it was a random character the toy line threw in there for an extra quick buck, you know, like some superhero toys nowadays have suits of characters that were never really featured in the movie. This had some incredible info about the game that I never knew, so well done!

it's kind of amazing how long a game can be in development and there's still wishy-washy uncertainty over major decisions like entire game modes, AI companions, and launch platforms. it's a miracle it is that games can get put together and shipped at a deadline relatively bug-free.

I actually got to play test this game in it's early development about 6 years ago when I was back in highschool... it was absolutely phenomenal, I really wish it hadn't been cancelled.

The first Iron Man game was actually really fun, you got full use of your suit, you could fly around massive maps or get up close and personal. Sadly the second Iron Man game removed that freedom and chose to focus on melee combat.
