In 2022, Japan’s former prime minister, Shinzo Abe, was assassinated by a man called Yamagami who is an ex-member and second generation of the unification church. It is said that his motive was to avenge the church for his financially devastating life caused by the nearly $1 Million donation that his mother made to the church after her husband's death. The PM and his family were known as supportive politicians of the church's start-up in Japan, and the criminal thought it was less meaningful to kill the switchable representative of the church, so he attacked the PM to stop this cult’s outrage in Japan. As Yamagami’s intention, the issue made by this cult has been getting known and rippled in Japan, and people started to demand the government make a restriction against cults, just like in France.

My mother was a moonie in the 80s. She worked in a kitchen for the cult in London making sushi with a load of Japanese ladies. She always tells me she helped popularise sushi in England.
The cult also owned the New Yorker hotel, the Washington times and Kahr arms and allegedly was/is involved in money laundering/ gun smuggling etc

There is an error at 8:08. Narrator says 27 billion dollars, but video shows 27 trillion.

Billion or trillion? The background voice says billion but the text on screen shows trillion.

Is vinegar really that recent? Why did I assume it was thousands of years old?

Please take up the issue of the Unification Church in Japan. It was Japan that suffered the most, and it was also Japan that made the most contact with the political world. The Unification Church is conducting political maneuvers in various parts of the world, using human rights violations of Japanese believers as a source of funding.

This is an interesting story, but the script seems poorly researched/edited and the video images just seem mostly random and dont really match the script.

The BBC doesn't seem to be able to distinguish between South Korea and North Korea.🤔

After Japan’s former PM was assassinated by a victim of the church, this sushi story tastes different... 😅

I don't think it is fair to call any new religious movement a cult so as to demean them. Remember many early Christian groups were also called cults. As an FFWPU member for over 40 years and an active supporter of Interfaith, I can testify that Father Moon's main aim was to bring religious leaders together so that in unity we could build a better world that maybe God's wants but can't achieve if we do not respect and love each other.

Foods made by mixing chopped fish with salt and rice or fermented fish food, fermenting exist in China, Japan, and Korea and Southeast Asia. It is a food called "Sikhae" in korea. Even older than narezushi. The prototype of modern sushi is narezushi, which is known as the prototype of modern sushi. Narezushi is more similar to sikhae than modern sushi. that's why Japanese sushi chefs often compare narezushi to Sikhae. It is difficult for Westerners to eat because of the strong smell of narezushi or sikhae.
