How to connect a TV antenna signal amplifier OTA TV antenna signal booster amplifier. They can be helpful to clear up reception on some channels and bring them to a watchable level. Be aware that a television antenna amplifier can help boost signals of channels that are received by an antenna, but are on the cusp of being received clearly (minimum signal level of approximately 40%) . However an amplifier will not boost a signal that is not there. Also, an amplifier can over-amplify strong TV signals, causing channels to drop out in some cases.

Great explanation. Since most people have two or more TVs when using an outdoor antenna, in order to connect to multiple TVs you need an amplified splitter or an antenna signal booster (like the one in your video) and a standard cable TV splitter so you won't have any signal loses. Using only a standard splitter you will loose channels. Also signal amplifiers boost weak signal on some frequencies.

He failed to mention that indoor amplifiers are generally not recommended because they can also amplify noise and electrical interference that is both outside and inside the home. However, they may be a relatively low cost trial-and-failure solution for some people. The next step would be to add a preamplifier to an existing antenna. That is usually done with outdoor antennas, especially ones with a long cable or when connected to a passive splitter.

I just bought the amplifier seen in the video, and it does NOT WORK. With my old RCA flat indoor antenna and it's accompanying amp I was getting 48 channels. I then took that antenna and amp offline and then did the new unit. When I hooked up this amp NOTHING came in. No channels. And I tried everything to get it to work. I figured maybe I had a bad 24" RF cable to hook up to the TV from the amp. Nope. I tried a different cable, same thing. I then tried the gain adjuster on three different adjustment settings; low, middle and high. Nothing changed. Then I opened it up to see if there was something that got damaged or disconnected. I ran the meter over everything and all was OK. I am very disappointed in this product.
