That top was horribly engineered. Way too many steps and if you get caught in a rainstorm with nowhere to stop....you are in trouble. The Alfa Romeo spider...two latches and flip it back. Genius.

The midget heaters have vents by your feet so when you run with the half cover you stay toasty warm!

In late 60s LA, I had a Midget (w/plastic, sliding side windows) w/top stored completely in the trunk, frame inciuded. The occasional surprise rain provoked me to break it down (or put it up) in a few minutes and get back on the road again. Did you know that the handling was so good that merely turning the steering wheel, without braking, was sufficient to turn at street intersections? OK, its not a Ford GT...

That's easy for you to do with a nice flexible cloth top. My top is new and it's a stiff, thick Vinyl top and does not fold easy. My top will NOT go all the way down because the material is so stiff.
