Blood is thicker than water is so interesting to me because people use it without knowing the full meaning - like a "bad apple" but the rest is "spoils the bunch", blood is thicker than water doesn't mean family is more important when you look at the full quote. It's something to the effect of "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" it actually means the opposite, like those you've battled with or shed blood with, is actually the relationship that is more meaningful.

Makes me hear Kendrick's verse in Mona Lisa different. "He on your fucking ringtone!? Is that the shit that you do!?"

Loving all these hiphop contents we have been getting lately. Now, I really hope the battle stays in the songs and not on the streets.

Dude! I've been wanting to hear a cole diss track since "everybody dies". 2024 is gonna be amazing in terms of hip hop.

Why is Drake in the conversation? He don’t hold a candle to Cole & Kendrick. Drake is outside looking into the lyricist lounge and not sharing a seat.

Xray.

we’re about to witness the greatest level of artistry our generation will ever get in hip hop.
this is what made hip hop what it is.
and we really needed this as fans and listeners.

The Harlem Night bar is also a reference to the Eddie Murphy & Richard Pryor movie "Harlem Nights" with an almost all Black cast.

On Count me out there's a jab at Cole, when Kendrick says ain't nobody but the mirror looking for the fall off, and J Cole responded in first person shooter where he says Naming it the fall of is ironic cause there's no falling off for him

Just know if I diss you I’d make sure you know I hit you like I’m on your caller id” no way Cole would sneak diss after saying that on the same song
