Ayaan is and always has been an opportunist. Just look at her asylum history and political career in the Netherlands. This 'conversion' is just part of her cosying up to the right.

While I was disappointed that Alex didn’t push back during her interview, she revealed so much about her personal situation, and she gave away so much about her problems and motivations.

Ayaan becoming a believer in a higher power doesn't mean anything. She managed to overcome her depression by surrounding herself with a community of with god believers. It doesn't make her beliefs true.

The biggest hurdle I come across is seeing other groups or charities in my area ask for donations and I'm thinking to myself, what happens once the donations are given out? What else are you doing in the community? Whats being giving that they cant easily get from Dollar Tree??

I have yet to find any secular communities in my area that are actually doing the work. We need more than protests and toiletry giveaways.

Something powerful I think secular people don’t tap into enough is the concept of freedom of religion. It’s not invoked nearly enough and yet it’s the best argument we have against growing religious tide in America. When Christians say their beliefs should be law we should point to the first amendment and remind them this country was founded on a united effort of multi denominational Christians and Freemasons
