Nice information James. I bought the triton pocket hole jig and like the katsu results you got I had, so I was all anti pocket hole joinery until I purchased the kreg master system. The kreg is excellent, I honestly think 95% of it is in the quality of the drill bit though and with the kreg and trend you can see straight away the drill bit is excellent.

That Trend looks so much better than the Katsu, a sound upgrade :)

Could also be a better quality drill bit. Something to consider.

Would that not just be down to the drill bit? you can buy new bits from Trend?

On the Kutsu you have two drill angles to put the hole in the correct position for thicker and thinner wood.. on the trend you only have a shallow angle.

I have that Trend one for about two years, I was going to go with kreg but really like the look and build quality of the Trend. I'm still very pleased with it. The only thing I didnt like was the clamp that came with it. They went a bit cheap with that but I would still buy that kit again. Excellent value for money.
