- - - This is one of my earliest arrangements, originally for flute, guitars and double bass, written by a young teenager back in the 60's. It's an old Swedish folk song "När månen vandrar på fästet blå och tittar in genom rutan".
A couple of years ago when I started collaborating with Duo Pránky I re-wrote the arrangement for flute and cello. The text to the song is "När månen vandrar på fästet blå och tittar in genom rutan, då tänker jag understundom så, och knäpper sakta på lutan: Vad du är lycklig du måne klara som får så högt över jorden fara, och blott se på".
That is: "When the moon wanders across the blue skies, looking through my window, I think like this, while I play my lute: How happy you are, shiny moon, that may float so high above the earth, and just look down".
Duo Pránky (Kinga Práda, flute, Emese Jánky, cello) is playing at a live concert in Grödinge church outside Stockholm, Sweden. (A CD recorded "studio" version of this piece is also shared here on YT with a slide show, but I thought it is nice to WATCH the performance of these beautiful ladies as well ;-)
