These lyrics are so prevalent today. It saddens me that we as a society haven’t moved forward since this release. This song is incredible.

Timeless song - and yes, it's as relevant today as it was back when he recorded it. Always been a favorite of mine.

Marvin Gaye was a very important artist, One of my favorites! Real intelligence in his lyrics, and beautiful musicianship.

One of the most IMPORTANT albums of those heady times! It tried and succeeded in SAYING SOMETHING! Not just pop.
The entire album should be heard at least once from beginning to end! Marvin at his best!

Appropriate for the times. So true and so sad. Love each other and help heal the road to equality. Dear Marvin RIP ☮️

After a long sabbatical, Magic Marvin brought this LP to the world and everyone was on the train with his feelings and message. He wrote a masterpiece in this album. No one will ever match the talent and power of this man. We miss u Marvin!!!

This song was about all the protesting and the Vietnam war.

The song pertains to what’s going on in our world today so sad 40-50 years later

Jovaughn, realize that some of us have been listening to this message for more than 50 years and it makes us so sad that there is still a need for it.

Omg motown was so against Marvin recording because they were so afraid of the controversy, but it was a huge hit for him and rightly so
RIP. you are missed...♡

Marvin Gaye is truly one of my fave singers of all time. I love songs with a great message of peace. ‘Only love can conquer hate’. Vale Marvin and the great hero, Senator John Lewis. Thank you for all your tolerance and great work. 😭💜😭 Hatred and division will NEVER win.

Yep, there is no denying Marvin was and will always be one of the most talented! His vocals are not to be matched, and he will always be up there with the best of the best. It's funny when I hear his music how it takes me back to exactly where I was, and who was in the room, lol. I miss him and always will play his music to those who want to hear magic. Thanks for the memories!

This song mesmerized me back in the day. I think it is so underrated and sadly is true still.

It was far mor intense in the 1960’s. He captured the mood in the moments of Civil Rights, Police Brutality and Vietnam

I recommend "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" for your next Marvin Gaye song.
