Although this is a beautiful cathedral, I find it hard to believe this was built in 9 years. You said there were only 800 catholics in the state and the priest help build them churches as well. He was a busy man! Wonder where he found all the funding he did back then? I think it's more likely this church existed before 1900 and they claimed it. One only needs to look closely at how the building was built. All the craftsmanship the stone and facade not to mention the roof and gables. We need to wake up you'll find this all over the world. We didn't possess the tools to do this back in that time frame.
