80% of land rovers are still on the road…the lucky 20% actually made it home.

Good video, Jay. I am not generally a Mercedes fan, for some of the reasons you described. I was reminded of something that the Car Wizard said in one of his videos: a lot of German cars are good for 100-150K miles, after which they will always need work. I thought that comment was on the mark! I'm a FoMoCo guy, and have owned nothing else.

Your intro/#2... Jeeps are caca. My Mom had one ('03 wrangler), I had two ('88 commanche/'01 wrangler), my BIL had one ('08 compass), all crap. Radiators going at 30K miles, electrical issues from day one, broken clutch pedal at 35K miles, body rattles, crappy paint and rot. Horrible, awful, terrible vehicles. Now for Lincoln. Nautilus' are sah-weet and brand specific... but, as far as the Navigator and Aviators go, go for loaded Expedition or Explorers and save yourself 15-20K bucks for the same thing, not counting the savings on eventual repairs. Off subject... Thanx for the work you do on these vids. They're fun and informative to watch. Got my grandson hooked now too! Keep up the great work!

My Jeep Cherokee has had no problems although I have never trusted the 9 speed Transmission and have the extended warranty. It cost $15, 000 new. I got a service manual and it has many computers and micro processesors. Pretty much impossible to repair. All high end cars now are noted to be unreliable including Rolls. Which is odd as Rolls was founded as the most reliable car in the world.

The intersection of your two worst cars is of course the Mercedes G Class ... super expensive, looks like a jeep, and is made by Mercedes.
AND YET, in my neighborhood, it's a "status" symbol. Can't figure it.

See "Auto Expert", John Cadogan. He routinely rakes brands over the coals. He can be hilarious when not trying to sell you a car.

I know that the cars mentioned haven't made any thing good in about four decades. I was surprised to hear that a 77 Mercedes is junk. I wouldn't know, I've only seen them.
I love old cars for the reason they are great and not rubbish like many modern cars.

You forgot Mitsubishi, Kia and GM (all brands)

About your Wagoner talk, it's the Fiat brand that ruined it...even more. They weren't this bad before they took over.

BMW's require Main Bearing "Service" at 100K!!!

I agree on all of these; I think the Jeep TJ was the last reliable (in the strictest sense of the word, being predictable -- you can pretty reliable predict when it will break down!) model that Jeep made. I was also really disappointed that they were not offering the Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer with faux wood paneling. I would also add Tesla and McLaren, on account of the egregious build quality -- or lack thereof -- along with any car that has an info-distraction screen instead of a standard radio and Three-Dial climate controls.

100K for THAT? Ugly price for an ugly car.

As I say my Cherokee is a pretty decent small SUV, the best looking I think. The Wrangler is overpriced. If you used one on the trails of CO. you would see the value. But thats all. They are stupid on pavement. The 4 door is a monstrosity. The Gladiator is said to be useless on or off pavement. The design is from 1936 as a pure military vehicle. Little wonder its such a crappy car. The early ones had a top speed of 45 mph. They probably cost about $500.00 each on the military contract.
