Thank you, Paul! I owe a large part of my up-and-coming success to you, your videos, and your motivation and insight. In the last year, i have went from being a Lead Technician, to an Automation Technician Level 1. I went from getting certifications in industrial electricity at my job through a local community college, to working towards a bachelors in mechatronics engineering through an accelerated program. I pursued python thanks to your videos and plc programming as well. I learned a lot about automation and gained a lot of industry incite and motivation from listening to you on my way to and from work daily. Thank you for helping me find a path to take.

I have no words to explain what I felt with this video.

My name is Hector, I was born in Miami but I have lived all my life in Maracaibo, Venezuela. I graduated in Electronic Engineering in Automation and Control.

When I graduated I came to live in Miami, I was determined that even if my degree was not accredited in the US, I would demonstrate through my CV all the necessary skills of an Electronic Engineer.

My first job was as a DirecTV salesperson at a Sam's Club kiosk. Then I got a part-time job as an Advanced Repair Agent at Geek Squad fixing Apple computers and phones. After 10 months I got a job as a Hardware Technician in a company that sells used IT equipment, being in charge of inspecting, testing and fixing the equipment that arrived. After a year and a half, I got to be the Home Automation Specialist for Lennar, one of the largest home construction companies in the United States, I was in charge of having all the knowledge of the Automation of all the houses built in the south east of Florida.

Finally, after a year, I got the job of my dreams, I work for a start-up in California, a company that manufactures and develops robots for the last mile delivery. I am the only Field Engineer at the moment, I work with robots every day of my life and constantly fixing them, upgrading them, discovering new undocumented problems, traveling all over the United States, currently I am in Ohio in a new operation.

It's too long, but I needed to tell my story, how with too much effort, I can be from an AirBnB commented on a YouTube video, how I achieved my dream.

Started my 2 year Automation Engineer-education last week, already done 1 year of automation-technician study - Looking forward to becoming one of the people that are wanted, and not replaceable in an instant as with my last 8 years of being an industrial worker.

Thank you for making this so realistic. I’m currently an apprentice electrician and I’ve found my electrical niche!

I have been working commissioning laser guided vehicles systems. (LGVs) for 5 years. Originally I worked as a civil engineering tech. This experience helped me get my foot in the door. I started doing mechanical and electrical assembly on the vehicles. For a custom automation company.

I told the boss I could help survey the warehouse layout for the vehicle paths. I haven’t looked back since. Now I am working in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. Helping commission LGV, AMR and AS/RS systems. I LOVE IT.

Hi, twenty-five years ago, I started my career as an industrial operator. Soon, I changed my perspective from an operator and started probing into the control functions and logics of the the machines. I am well versed in I&C components their application etc. Have contributed operator’s input to repair, maintenance and modifying control systems. Provide firsthand information to maintainers from basics to possible problems causing errors or faults in the system. But above everything, I ‘m still standing at operator’s end as an expert. I want to excel in the field of industrial automation and feel I will prove to be more successful because I have a sound experience of industrial operation.
Please guide me if I should start PLC programming.

Hi there. I am currently a technician in the marking and coding industry. I repair and install technology in different ways and industries. Do you have advice or experience with how I might be able to make money on the side or maximize my income? My first thought is to get my network+ and six sigma training.... but how does one branch off on their own in an industry like this?

Hi, Paul.
I live in Norway and I'm 16 years old. Right now, I'm in my first year of studying electrical systems, and next year I'll be starting at an automation school where I can get a certificate of apprenticeship after 3 years of school and 1.5 years as an apprentice. After that, I plan to get a bachelor's degree in Automation and Robotics. Here in Norway, education is free, and I aspire to become an engineer in this field.

I've been working with automation and electrical systems for a year now. Among all the subjects in my first year of electrical studies, automation is the most challenging, but I love those challenges and feel that I master them. It might sound egoistic, but I believe I can achieve anything. My biggest dream is to start an industrial automation company after gaining a few years of experience. I feel there's something special inside me, driving my interest in this field. I watch automation videos and take courses at home because I'm so passionate about it.

However, I sometimes struggle with self-doubt and fear that I'll never be good enough or fulfill my potential. This worry especially hits me at night and sometimes during the day. My question to you is: how can I shift this mindset? I really struggle with it and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I don't want to be the best professional that follow orders from others and work on other's people project until late. I want to be the owner of the company, the investor, the guy that have a group of tech professionals working hard for him. In summary, I want to be the guy that owns the million dollar equipment and not just the tech automation guy that works with it.
