Our dear sweet Droopy passed away in December at the age of 12. He was loved every day until his last. He was a rescue dog and we got him at 8 years of age. Our time together was short but you gave me some of the best memories of my life. I love you old friend and I will see you on the other side.

Reminds me when U came back home from VN 51 years ago. I was greeted by “Zeke the Wonderhound”. We were always wondering what he was going to do next. The first of our sixBassets. We still have one today, or actually She has us!

At a event once I had a Bassett waddle over to me and plopped down on my feet. He wouldn't let me go until I petted him😆 Loved it. I was a total stranger to him.

There is a basset hound in my neighborhood named Josie who is just the sweetest thing. She always lays down when I see her so she can get a tummy rub.

I love all dogs, but Basset Hounds are at the bottom of the list. Even this video is no big deal. Most other dogs are so much more demonstrably happy.

i'm 70 years old. grew up on a farm with basset hounds.i've had them from time to time. have one now. they are hands down the best all around dogs.

Notice her surprise at him smelling good. All Bassett owners know of the cheesy dorito type signature smell they carry FOR LIFE. Best dogs in the world though♥️🐶

He actually wasn't that happy lol... which is perfectly normal. Often times dogs will be upset initially as a way of telling you that they don't like the fact that you left, and only become cuddly after.
