Wow! For someone who constantly says "I'm not a real jazz guitarist", you have a better time feel than a lot of people teaching jazz guitar on Youtube. I think that goes to show that we gotta respect all genres of music and learn to learn from as much as possible. All that funk and blues pocket playing makes your jazz playing sound like dancing with fire :) Sounds funky like Grant Green or Howard Roberts. Nice lines and reference to melody. All the theory and rules don't mean a thing if you can't make it all sing. You, TomoFujita, sure make it dance and sing!

Something I’ve always heard is “learn what to play over the changes in practice, until you don’t need to think about it”. Easier said than done!

I was in college when I first heard "Getz/Gilberto/Jobim" and immediately fell in love with 'Bossa Nova' It's beautiful music and when joined by Astrud Gilberto in that Portuguese lyric, it is wonderful

It's amazing how you keep the same tempo constantly as you play tomo san, thank you for your tutorials Mr. Fujita.

Good work Tomo, I can exactly hear where you are in the progression. This is the way I always study without backing track, training my ear to hit chordnotes and play melodic. A good lesson, greetings Vic.

Hi Tomo, I was fortunate to get a 1994 Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion. What a WONDERFUL instrument to play jazz that you teach.

Thanks for this great video. I like Dexter Gordon’s blue bossa as well. He has a lot of great lines.

Always wanted to learn this song. Thank you for the lesson.

Wow. This is really nice. I see that the Ddim7 chord literally acts like bridge between Cm and Ebm scales due to its symmetry.

Thanks for the video. I'm working on this song at the moment and I've just came across your video by accident. I've already figured out the melody and chords by ear, (figuring the chords out took ages!). Anyway, you've given me some helpful ideas to solo over it, because I often find it difficult to turn those arpeggios into something that doesn't sound like an exercise!

I wish I would have learned the basic triads YEARS ago. I spent so many years just playing pentatonic shapes. Never took any lessons. I’m a little behind but I’m catching up!
