NHL Highlights | Sabres vs. Panthers - April 4, 2023

Alex Lyon turned in another solid start making 40 saves and Matthew Tkachuk's marker at the beginning of the third period held up as the game-winner as the Florida Panthers defeated the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in a game with big playoff implications.

Great battle between two excellent tenders. Both Lyon and Levi played unreal.

Levi looks as good as advertised. What a game by Lyon as well. Sabres are such a fun team to watch, another entertaining game. They played good enough to win, but Lyon was a brick wall. It happens...

I can’t even be annoyed about that loss and no playoffs for the Sabres.

A 2-1 loss road to the Panthers is not an embarrassment. That was like a playoff game.

Levi and Lyon we’re the stars of that one. 👌🏼

As a Sabres fan, as great as it would’ve been to win this, I’m not too disappointed. The manner in which we lost felt way more respectable than that whole losing stretch in March, and it gives me a lot of hope for next year that we played that well. And if we’re not going to make the playoffs, the Panthers would probably be the other team I’d want to get in the most. After their season last year, I’d love for them to get a second chance at the postseason (especially at the Pens’ expense… I know some obnoxious Pens fans and I’d love to see their reactions to the Isles and Panthers getting the WC spots instead of them lol)

Отчаянная рубка была за продолжение борьбы за место в плей-офф. Флориде повезло больше. Но с Ливаем в воротах у Баффало в следующем сезоне должно стать лучше в защите, уж слишком много они пропускали в этом сезоне.

Эх Баффало, Баффало, как же вам всё же не фортит в конце сезона, в отличие от его начала. Девон Леви, достойная замена Андерсону, молодец парень 34 из 36- это отличный результат. дай Бог чтобы Девон набирал обороты. Ну а бизонам в матче с Детройт побольше удачи.

fitting that the Sabres would be knocked out of the playoffs in a game that showed why they are at the bottom of the league in defense. Levi did a great job keeping them in it, excited to see how they look next year (with hopefully less defensive zone turnovers)

Has Alex Lyon taken over from the obscenely overpaid Bobrovsky and #1 pick Spencer Knight? As someone old enough to remember Ken Dryden in 1970-71, I'd rather see my Bruins take on the aforementioned mediocrities rather than a new guy.

Pathers should have never let Spudsy go. Maurice ain't it. Hire Quenneville back or Babcock. Played better under Brunette FFS with less talent. Hell even soft Julien is better.

Putting the Sabres to bed is so satisfying after how cocky their fan base has been getting with a bit of success. Maybe in another 11 years they'll get there
