I change the oil in my cars every 2, 000 miles because I mostly do short trips, my shop is a half mile from my house, most days it is just one mile for me, short trips will cause sludge, the engine never gets hot enough to burn off fuel and water from the oil, I only use Pennzoil platinum, ultra platinum in my truck, it is an overhead cam 4 cylinder in a Colorado, that timing chain is really long, it seems to work just replace the valve cover gasket and everthing in there looked like new parts

Slude engines have very little hope of being revived even with engine cleaners. Sludge forms in all of the journals in the block and heads. When using those treatments, they are meant for minor sludge, not heavy, thick sludge. You did him a favor, actually

I had Dodge Charger with the 3.5 no oil on the passenger side. I was running it with the valve cover off and the diesel mix in the oil finally broke through the sludge and was like a pressure sprayer shooting the oil mix out of the engine. I was right by the ignition switch so I was able to cut it off real quick.

Alex back in 08 when the mechanic that helped me out with my first car when we where teens with 2 kids, he had a shop not even 1/4 the size of what you showed and he was 15, 000 a month back in 08 maybe because its miami but holy shit 2500 in 2020 ?? Is that alot for the area?

Hey Alex I'm not sure what the status is for that young mans Hyundai or if you read old comments. But do you think you could get the engine clean enough to not look so neglected? Because there is a recall on those engines for premature rod bearing failure due to oil starvation. It's the theta 2 engine, I actually recently was able to successfully make a claim for my aunt's Sonata who spun a rod bearing a month ago and she was approved for a new engine. Just throwing an idea out there not sure if it's much help

So it die because of oil starvation all the oil ports all clogged up causing the pistons to heat up dry and then kaboom 🤯 dam good stuff Alex
