Kirby's Return To Dreamland - The True Enemy [HD]

After defeating Landia, it turns out that Malogor was using Kirby and his friends the whole time to obtain the Master Crown from Landia in order to gain ultimate power.

I like how Kirby is able to keep a straight face after being double Marx-ed.

My reaction went something like this:
During the Landia battle, I started to notice that Landia really didn't look evil. Coupled with the sad music, that gave me the feeling that Landia wasn't evil after all.
This meant there were two possibilities: either Landia was possessed, or Magolor had betrayed Kirby. When the camera paid so much attention to the Crown, I was sure one of those theories was correct - and directly related to the Crown.
Then Magolor appeared, clapping slowly, and I knew.

When first saw this years ago I was maybe 8. I really genuinely liked Magolor so when he turned on me and Kirby I had been broken, anger swelled up in me so much that I wanted to destroy magolor with every fibre of my being. In that moment and to this day, that was the angriest I’ve ever been and most betrayed I’ve ever felt

and to think Marx was messed up. Magalor takes it to another level! You see this guy every time you turn the game on and want to play his minigames so you start to love seeing his friendly face, and then THIS happens. Seriously, Kirby games keep getting more f*cked up and disturbing.

I always see this scene as the crown speaking to Kirby through Magolor. Magolor wanted the crown but it's power was too great for him to handle and it ended up controlling him the instant he put it on and the entity inside the crown ended up possessing him. It's never explained what creature is inside the crown but it seems to be Dark Matter based in it's origin as those that don the crown are able to control dimensional entities known as Doomers which at first were being controlled by a corrupted Landia but after taking the crown from Landia the Doomers started to obey Magolor. It could be possible that all the bosses in this game may have been servants to the crown itself and the crown entity drew Magolor to it seeking to become complete. It saw Magolor as an ideal host. This is further hinted at because Grand Doomer the leader of the Doomers was seen holding one of the ship pieces. It could be possible that the other bosses were either controlled or created by the Doomers and the Master Crown. Eventually having finally donned on an ideal host the Master Crown began leeching away at Magolor's mind turning him into a psychotic wizard similar in a appearance to Nightmare. When the corrupted Magolor failed to defeat Kirby the crown got angry and pulled all of Magolor's energy completely consuming him and eventually showing it's true form. An unholy mixture of a Doomer and a Dark Matter with Dark Mind like armor. The entity tries to fight Kirby using powerful interdimensional abilities but is defeated. The creature roars in pain flailing about as black blood pours out of it's body and shrinks. It is then reduced to a small crown on Magolor's head which then shatters to pieces destroying the Dark Matter once more and freeing Magolor from his corruption.

never trust a suspecious guy who attempts to be friendly (especially if they are random)

so this puts a whole other level toward stranger danger to the max :O

I remember being so angry at upset at Magolor’s betrayal as a kid cuz I was really convinced he was a good person. It’s really great to see that Magolor has truly become a good person and a legit ally to Kirby in later games
