There are new boards in town. The Compute Module 4 ecosystem is expanding at a rapid pace, and I don't even have time to cover all the new projects I've found!

The three I cover in this video include:

Other videos I mentioned in this video:

After retiring from the IT industry 3 years ago, I was happily forgetting all my work and knowledge accumulated over the last 20 years. Because of your videos, you’re getting me excited about tinkering with these raspberry pi devices and learning again!

much praise to mebs_t! That looks like a fascinating project, among all the other stuff! Good to see progress on a lot of different fronts.

A lot of exciting projects and I hope that they are all successful. This week I built a pi cluster using 6 pi-4 8g boards with pi-poe-hats connected to a Netgear poe switch and have everything up and running. Now I'm deploying services to the cluster. My goal is to deploy services for controlling up to 8 security cams, managing the video storage through a NAS, and making the cams visible via an inbound VPN service and web server. All of this running on the cluster with no outside services. I have been retired for 12 years so this is going to keep me busy for a while.

What has caught my interest the most in the CM4 space is the Turing Pi 2 cluster. Haven't seen much on it since the announcement, but hopefully its progressing well in the background.

We're getting there. What I want is a premade, plug-and-play Pi NAS, ideally with hotswap...but that might be greedy.

I actually saw that same Reddit post not long ago. Glad to see him getting some exposure

Great to see news on cool OpenSource projects :)

I assume given its small size, a Raspberry module can be mounted on a standardized PCIe card that is inserted into a desktop tower. This basically acts like an independent computer inside another computer. Power can be piped through the PCIe slot. Is there such a product out there?

I really hope we get the Compute Module 4 in New Zealand soon. Element14 still says it's coming soon. I can't wait to try this out.

Hi Jeff, I noticed absorption panels. Did you make these yourself or bought them? Would you recommend them? Maybe you already have a video on them?

Jeff, have you made any video on the throughput challenges with various PCI channels and how this is best handled with SATA.

Raspberry pie turning in to a computer, interesting.. Not a bad idea at all! Got my first pie couple weeks ago and i must say, the size related to the capacity of the raspberry device is mind-boggling
say the least. But i'm gonna stick with the minimalist look for now and use my primary computer for horsepower related stuff and use the pie for tinkering. I hope you all have fun with your pies^^

that dude just made a wonderful NAS <3 will prefer raspberry pi NAS (for media serving purpose) over traditional NASes anyday
