The Beauty of the Butterfly Effect

The butterfly effect is the name given to processes where small differences in starting conditions for the system lead to large differences in the final outcome over time. Here we see how small differences in the initial position for a ball bouncing elastically inside a circle leads to fantastically different trajectories over time. This video was inspired by the following video from @animations_ag:

After watching his video, I set out to see if I could write a similar program and I believe I succeeded. This simulation was performed in Python, and the graphics were generated using the matplotlib and manim libraries.

Super cool!! Love the rainbow to heat map on the 100 ball simulation

This is amazing - wish you let the simulations run longer though and/or sped up the simulation so we could see if any convergences happen later on in the simulation.
