I am from Assam and i would like to mention that the green leaves in the thali at monastery restaurant is common in assam and all the other north eastern states. Duck or Pork are also cooked with this green leaf. We eat various species of such leaves as sabji. For example we eat leaves of mustard tree before floweiring and cook these with local fish. Come to upper assam during winter to taste these delicious and healthy food. So these are also parts of indian recipe .

The khata symbolizes purity and compassion and is worn or presented with incense at many ceremonial occasions, including births, weddings, funerals, graduations and the arrival or departure of guests. When given as a farewell gesture it symbolizes a safe journey. When given to arriving guests it symbolizes welcome.🎉
