An old but hilarious clip from the BAFTAs you might want to look at is from back in about 1990 when John Cleese did an acceptance speech by video link for "A Fish Called Wanda". One of the best "I'd like to thank..."s ever!

That was a beautifully crafted performance. Refreshingly, it wasn't the common double-act 'trope' of "smart and dumb". They are both very bright, so it was a partnership of equals. Clever.
Best Wishes, Chaps. ☮

You might already know his comedy, but you haven't reacted to Peter Kay. He set a world record for largest audience for a comedy tour back in 2010 (1.2 million). This is a piece of that show:

He's very popular. His act is 'family friendly', with very little swearing for a UK live comedian. His Mum and Gran are often in the audience. His videos sometimes show their reactions.
Michael Jackson had a tour booked at the same venue (the O2), but died shortly before his tour. IIRC, Peter took some of MJ's cancelled dates to extend his own tour, but I might be mistaken.

I remember Steve Coogan presenting an award at some ceremony or other many years ago. It was one where all the stars and big names are sat at round tables where they ate dinner, presumably. I'm paraphrasing his speech, but he was talking away and then mentioned that during the break he had been outside having a quick cigarette with a friend (it may have been Rob Brydon), and he said, "...So, I asked Rob how his evening was going. He said it was terrible because the people on the table he was sat at were so incredibly *boring."*
Great way to drop your friend in it!
