Stretching exercises are crucial for maintaining the health and well-being of paraplegic patients. Passive stretching, using external forces to gently move the limbs, can improve flexibility and prevent joint stiffness. Isometric stretching, contracting muscles and holding the contraction, can build strength and prevent muscle wasting. Working with a healthcare professional is vital to develop an appropriate routine, starting with gentle stretches and gradually increasing intensity and duration. Incorporating stretching exercises into daily routine can improve overall health and quality of life for paraplegic patients.
