I still remember seeing Prince Fielder hit a walk off Grand Slam ... 12 games seems too good to be true. they are just playing such great ball, the triples seem intentional, not accidental. These close games also inspire me that they have a clutch bone that we may have never had and a unity as a team. I think having ole Admiral Murphy vs Cadet Counsell is a huge shift in morale and its showing!

Sal Frelich has as pure and level swing as any player on the team. Sadly his numbers may not support this but he has maintained an above average batting average and last nights performance shows what he is capable of. It would not surprise me if he reaches .300 BA by the end of the season.

I was sleep walking through that game until the 8th . Mears would not have been my choice but McGill must not have been ready because when Murphy was ask about McGill he snapped back at the reporter . He turns into grumpy old guy in a heart beat😂

Just calm down I've been a brewers fan for over 50 years and they always seem to screw up

Errata: The Cards traded Dylan Carlson at the deadline because he couldn't hit. He is currently MASHING in Tampa. Nolan Gorman was batting after Goldy.
As a Cards fan, I was wondering if Williams needed the work in the 9th. The Brewers could've brought up a lefty from 2A in the 9th and gotten the same (or better) result. Goldy and Gorman striking out with runners on base was a given.

Going to a Sounds game tonight, hoping they put Elvis in while I’m here.

I’m not worried about the brewers getting “too hot too early” because of a few reasons
1) this team has been the most consistent mlb team all year. Only team to not lose more than 3 in a row. Held a lead for the division right out of the gate and slowly built it up over time. It’s not like the brewers were 15-15 and now have gone on a heater and run out of gas. We’ve been consistently good outside of like a 2 week span in July
2) our style of play is built for the playoffs. We no longer rely on high volume strikeout guys to get hits/home runs anymore. We get a walk, steal second, ground ball gets him to 3rd, sac fly home. This team can now score runs without even recording a single hit. Brewers teams in the past could only score on solo home runs it felt, and when that went cold in the playoffs we were done. This team is constantly putting pressure on other teams. And they don’t need to string 3 consecutive hits to score 1 run

I still fear the things that have hurt the team in playoffs last several seasons are still issues under the surface. Can they string enough hits together against other teams best pitchers and have starters go deep enough to save the bullpen for later games in series.

Why hate on Sal? He gets on base and makes crazy snags in the outfield. He doesn't hit home runs but he has been the most consistent player we've had all year. I say keep Sal. He is undervalued!

I don't remember when Prince hit his bomb, but do remember he had only 1. Meanwhile Yuni B who had only barely 60 career HRs had 8 brandies so he used to sass Prince about it.

Is it just me or are the new blocking rules only enforced against us? Feels like a common occurrence this season

Hard disagree on regular season awards including the postseason. There’s a reason we have postseason awards (LCS mvp, WS mvp, championship, etc)

I've never seen that look on devin's face before... I knew the cardinals were done when I saw that

Interesting scenario. We won and had the Dodgers & Orioles last today, we would have had 6 teams tied for best record with 21 wins above 500. Don't think this has ever happened in August in MLB history.

Montas should have pitched the 8th. Not even 90 pitches and he gets pulled

Instead of Craigtember, we have.... Murgust?

Chuck, Let's take it one game at a time and one week at a time. This is a different Brewer team in how they execute and who they are playing for. They can absolutely win the series because they play like those who have won it recently.

Two weeks ago, "trending in the wrong direction." Last week, it was "is this all we can produce against top teams?" Now it's a lovefest. Brewer fans need to go on lithium to calm their bi-polar mood swings.

I predicted we would win only one of the games against the Cardinals in this series, so I won't freak out if we lose the next two games. Chuck will have kittens, trying to show how the team doesn't have a chance in the playoffs.

Elvis Peguero sent to Nashville and Trevor Megill back on team. That in itself is understandable. But, not sure Nick Mears is better than Elvis Peguero. Peguero has been up an down this year. Notably, Peguero was roughed up in April, but had a good May 1.86 ERA and June 2.08 ERA. July got banged around again, 5.79 ERA. But is Mears actually better? Mears gave up 2 runs in game #1 against the Cardinals. The team still won, but Mears did not help by letting the team go from 3-0 down to 3-2. Mears has a 3.68 ERA in August and is giving up a .250 batting average to opponents. Not terrible, but maybe Peguero should eventualy take this spot.
