Lots of scriptures can be slanted to mean only elite people (the elect) are chosen for salvation in Jesus Christ. Within the balance of scriptures in God's Word, the Holy Bible are found many that state the same truths as those that follow below. - - -

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Acts 10:34-35: "Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him."

Romans 2:11: "For there is no respect of persons with God."

Total depravity is calvinism cause they do not understand the Word and have no wisdom which is also a gift from God and also in cessationism they deny that spiritual gifts exists too.
