We’re probably going to find out a year from now the difficultly distributing the aid meant for renters was deliberately slowed and it was a matter of “internal” policy.

What a terrible decision by The Hill. If you can't tell by the comments section Krystal & Saager were why people came here. And most will follow them & unsubscribe to The Hill. Brilliant!

If the government wanted to help people pay their rent during the pandemic they should have been giving out stimulus checks the entire time instead of telling landlords they can't collect rent. It was DC that forced everything to shut down, they caused this problem.

Oligarchs exploiting a crisis to further enrich themselves? Who could have seen that coming?

My next door neighbor sold his house for 30% more than what he was asking. It was bought by an investor who has spent the last month fixing it up and will likely sell it for an even greater profit. At some point no one who isn't making well above typical pay will be able to buy a house in this area. The population in this neighborhood is already much older now. Sad to watch.

Drug addictions are easy to see... Gambling as well... But why not the addiction of more money at all cost... THAT is an addiction too...

It's just another way of transferring wealth from class to class. In most cases, it's by design or at the very least, accommodated..."never let a crisis go to waste.".

I've heard many urban and beachfront properties sit vacant as a way for international investors to park their money. I'd like to see an investigation into this issue and what implications there are for allowing unfettered access to private land purchases.
