In case nobody told you today…. here are 5 coping skills you use can right now if you’re struggling with your mental health 💛
1. Take a Deep Breath 😮💨 *make sure your out breath is slower and longer than your in breath for maximum effect. Try to take 3-10 deep breaths to start and make sure to relax your shoulders and jaw as you breathe.
2. Toe Crunches 🦶 *squish your toes down towards your foot as though you are doing a bicep curl or a crunch. Release then repeat on the other foot. Do this 6-8 times slowly.
3. Massage the palm of your hand 🖐️ *this always feels so amazing and you can do this discreetly when you’re sitting with your hands in your lap or even down by your side.
4. Drink some Water 💧 *this one is a big fave of mine… bonus is it helps you buy some time to think if you’re in a conversation AND it’s great for your skin 🌟
5. Visualize the Outcome You Desire 💭 *visualizing is a tool used by elite athletes to calm their nervous systems before they compete- you can use the same tool to calm your nervous system, too
