Such a down to earth bloke. Loving him more now we’re getting to know his personality. Elite mindset. Battle hardened warrior. Clearly in the game for all the right reasons. Can you imagine a prime Rooney in this era of the PL? He would rip it up in any era..a wonderful footballing brain, strong & physical, great with both feet, good inside & outside the box, a team player through & through.

This is the kind of desire and genuine love for the game that a lot of current Utd players seem to lack. They can't all be as good as Rooney but there's nothing stopping them from having the hunger to turn up every game and leave it all on the pitch. Just prioritise your football and performances above everything else that comes with the game

No. he was not the best CF - but Rooney was more, he was everywhere - a fighter first of all. ManU have had better CF players - but they were no where near Rooney in everything else he brought to the game.
