1. Kravice Waterfalls
Kravica waterfall is a beautiful natural landmark located near Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kravica nature park is a popular tourist destination thanks to the amazing waterfall that’s over 25 meters high. The Kravica waterfall is said to have originated millions of years ago. Kravica waterfalls is one of the largest waterfalls in Bosnia and Herzegovina and it’s definitely worth a visit. The waterfall was formed as a result of tectonic movement and the upheaval of the limestone plateau on which Trebizat, the river that feeds the waterfalls, flows. The best time to visit Kravica is during the summer when the water level is high and the weather is warm.
2. Pliva Waterfalls
The Pliva Waterfall is located by the town of Jajce, in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the river Pliva meets the river Vrbas. The waterfall is a large tufa, also known as travertine barrier, making over 22 meters cascade on the Pliva river, in a narrow karstic zone, which follows the Pliva course, retracted into a flysh and limestone contact zone. It was 30 meters high, but after an earthquake during the Bosnian war and attacks on the power plant further up the river, the area was flooded and now the waterfall is 22 meters high.
3. Watermills Jajce
The Water Mills in Jajce - Jajce abounds in unique natural beauties, so Mlinčići is one of them. At first glance unreal, but at other sight beautiful and unique Mlinčići represent a complex of 20 small mills built of oak wood, the construction of which reflects the then well-known carpentry skill. No wonder why they attract tourists from all over the world. Their existence is as far back as 400 years, which in no way diminishes their uniqueness and beauty, but on the contrary increases their value.
These mills were built on a travertine barrier between the Great and Small Pliva Lakes. Data from 1562 show that at that time there were 24 mills in the area of the town of Jajce, 6 of which were not in operation, and over time their number increased.
This place preserves the Bosnian-Herzegovinian tradition, and in 2005 it was renovated and 6 mills were returned to use, while the others were restored to their original appearance with minimal renovation in order to preserve their originality. Due to its natural, historical, architectural, geological and scientific value, the Cultural Landscape-Pliva Lakes with a complex of mills on the Pliva River in 2009 was declared a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
