Buster Murdaugh denies his family was involved in former classmate's death

Buster Murdaugh, the son of convicted South Carolina murderer Alex Murdaugh, denied "baseless rumors" his family had something to do with his former classmate's 2015 death. Stephen Smith's family wants his body exhumed as questions about his death resurface. CBS News national correspondent Nikki Battiste has more.

If youre clipped in the head with a side mirror you wont come out of your shoes. That happens when you are struck by the front of the vehicle and what pulls you out of your shoes is the vehicles bumper and hood pulling the body up with force over the hood and onto the roof/over the side of the hood of the vehicle that causes the person to be pulled out of their shoes.

It depends entirely where the person is hit as to what will happen to their body.

Measure his height up to the area of the wound. Now find a vehicle that matches the height of that wound and skull fracture. Get a side view mirror and look at it and compare it to the blunt force injury to Steven's head.

I would absolutely 100% expect that if an individual were clipped with a Sideview mirror, it would force their head forward and likely dislocate their shoulder and they would fall with force into the pavement. You would notice things like bleeding from the ears or nose, or eyeballs, and sometimes a very precise injury to the back of the head especially is not going to cause a huge, bloody mess on the pavement. The bleeding would have happened inside his skull. I would expect also that he would have a fracture of the cervical vertebrae. I don't know if a forensic pathologist did an autopsy or a coroner just handled it.

I don't understand why his gas tank was open because that's not something you typically do before you get back to your car with a gas can. I would like to know the truth too, but the injury he presented with can absolutely be caused by being clipped with a side view mirror... also, I'm not even saying that one of the Murdoch boys weren't driving the vehicle that hit him. Part of the incident definitely appears staged. It's the dislocated shoulder for me. That tells you he was hit in the head with such force. It twisted his head and upper body and dislocated his shoulder which would be extremely difficult to do with a baseball bat or some object as you would see in a beating. Something would have to be moving very very fast that is a lot heavier than you with a higher velocity in order to cause that kind of injury and I would expect to see a cervical spine fracture in addition to the shoulder dislocation.

I have literally seen deer clipped by side view mirrors without any apparent bleeding besides small amounts from the ears and massive fatal head trauma or cervical fractures. It truly depends on where the person is hit.
