Because someday, people are going to say we made it up." In this clip, WWII liberator Alan Moskin remembers the commands of then-General Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was appointed Chief of Staff of the (US) Army on November 19, 1945, and was the Supreme Commander of Allied Troops in Europe. General Eisenhower was deeply impacted by what he witnessed when American troops liberated concentrations camps, and he was committed to collecting evidence and exposing the atrocities committed by Nazi Germany.

I heard a similar story from a WWII vet who was in the unit that liberated one of the lesser known camps. He started by telling me, "All we wanted to do was bury those poor people but Eisenhower told us not to."

I remember, I think it was a Granada (ITV) cameraman who said they deliberately used long shots when filming, without cuts, so that no one could say that stuff was changed in the edit.

Why are people fighting over what has happened? Why can't we take a moment to see true evil in the world? This is a reminder that we need to fight evil at all avenues to prevent this. Whether it's abroad or domestic. We have a duty to those people who died horribly. We have a duty to those who will descend from us. Lastly we have a duty to ourselves to fight evil and remember those battles that have happened. As a society, we need to remember. We need to be better. We need to be careful and ever vigilant.
