Short lecture on linear combination of atomic orbitals

In homonuclear diatomic molecules, the 1s, 2s, and 2pz orbitals combine to form sigma_g bonding and sigma_u^star anti-bonding molecular orbitals.The 2px and 2py combine to form pi_u bonding and pi_g^star anti-bonding orbitals.

Are the labels g and u on the left hand side right? If I invert what you labeld 2 sigma g, for example, don't I get (x, y, z) -> (-x, -y, -z)?

Well the pronounciation of "gerade" and "ungerade" is slightly wrong, but it's not really important.
Helpful video nonetheless.
