god bless those headlight pins, best thing ever put inside a car

Some vehicles require removing the front bumper to change the headlight. Another reason Chevy trucks are the best. Pre 2007 of course.

Running the stock headlights . When I got the truck many years ago the headlights looked like old white Tupperware. I buffed them with a kit from 3M along with their ceramic sealer. They look fantastic and Crystal clear.
I bought Amazon turn signal / DRLs which I sealed with glue after they started leaking.
Thank you for all your suggestions and well thought through tips. You're my favorite YouTuber! You have saved me time and trouble on my 2002 Silverado

You can take a 1/32 drillbit, drill a small whole in the bottom right hand corner to drain the moisture out. Did it on my 04 Cateye

Full led replacements in back. And I changed the front headlights and put in Leds for high and just good lights for lows to not hurt people coming at me. Works perfect. Close 06 yukon xl denali. Same same.

I found that HID is the best bulb for these cat eyes, went thru so many leds and most of them don’t light very well, Hids are the way to go with these cat eyes

Love it! I got the 18 Colorado. I buffed the oxidation off the lenses. But they have garbage on the inside starting to build uo. Im running led lights. They arent bad, just want to prevent.

To prevent moisture in your lights simply drill a couple of 3/4 inch holes in the bottom somewhere. Haven't had a problem in years.

Lights get moisture in there when either the seal for the lens is cracked somewhere or the socket. If the bulbs oring/gasket is old, it doesnt seal.
I replaced my 96 dakotas headlight housings, bulbs(led), and for good measure put a high temp grease on the oring. Never had mositure in the 3 years until I was tboned and rolled.
Speaking from personal experience. Not ase cert. Was an aircraft mechanic tho 😂

I was hoping you’d have a great tip on how to solve the humidity/water in headlights/tail light assemblies. Seems to happen on all cars and I can’t stand it! One of my cars is currently doing it on rear tail light. I removed the bulb sockets and put a fan on it for 30 minutes and it goes away. Only to come back again.Argh!!!

Ooo I got the cat eyes on my 2003 Silverado

The best way to avoid moisture in your headlights on a Chevy or GMC truck is to buy one with round T3 glass headlamp bulbs
ThatsChannel
I use diaelectric grease on the base of the bulb assembly, to seal to the head light enclosure to keep moisture from forming on the inside of the assembly.

Any recommendations for replacement lights on an 04?

A swipe or 2 with acetone will make them look new. Don't scrub, a really wet wipe works best.

All lights flickering.. including dash new alternator.. never replaced the ground cable though 🤔 maybe upgrade the battery like you said in a previous video. Maybe the small tear in my vacuum line of the FPR 🤔 have anything on parasitic drains?

Silicone all around the light works the best don't have to drill holes
bobbywasielewski
Sometimes ive drilled a small weep hole on the bottom and one somewhere to vent. Lower passenger light seems to be the usual leaker..

Bulbs seals replaced and stopped water from leaking in..
