After more than three and a half years since it had a major hardware update, the new Apple TV is finally shipping to consumers. So how does the new Apple TV stack up? And are apps really the future of TV? We've spent the last five days trying to find out.

Why does every review you guys do feel like an ad? Like, I'm not going to accuse these of being sponsored, because I don't know, but it's still a problem if I get that suspicion with every review. Even a glowing review should be written differently than a glorified commercial. But your reviews always feel like straight-up marketing speak. You always throw in a few minor, lip-service criticisms to make them seem more fair and honest, but they really do feel like ads. And if they're not supposed to be ads, why write them that way?

Had mine for less than an hour before I lost my remote between the cushions. It has a slick back like the iPhones so it slides quite easily into the cracks...Lol! Not an issue, but just be mindful of where you put it down.

No SPDIF: Many specifics are not mentioned that I just barely caught at the unveiling. For example, it does not support "optical audio", so listening to my music through my 5.1 Home Theatre will be a dud. This is a deal-breaker for me! Even the $35 Chrome AudioCast supports SPDIF.

You need a very expensive proprietary cable to charge your remote? That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
