An excerpt of Errollyn Wallen's PARADE, commissioned for the centenary of the orchestra's founder Sir Neville Marriner, performed on what would have been his 100th birthday at the church of St Martin-in-the-Fields and at his Homecoming Concert at Lincoln Cathedral, where this performance was recorded.

"Since hearing Academy of St Martin in the Fields’ electrifying performance of my Concerto Grosso I have longed to work with this orchestra again and was delighted to be asked to compose a new work for the Marriner 100 celebrations.

PARADE is a short celebratory work in which I showcase every section of this much-admired orchestra with affectionate nods to the classical, baroque and romantic eras. PARADE is also my own personal celebration of this orchestra and of the love and joy their virtuosic music-making brings to our world."
