Lots of questions about the Daylight computer. I actually worked on the project, so I'm happy to answer whatever I can here.

as a remarkable owner, the daylight computer is pretty compelling. just being able to read and engage with pdfs so smoothly like that is incredible. ALSO it could make a cool retro handheld device since its on android and that chipset can def handle emulation.

If I'd had one of these on my very first day of grad school, I could have saved an entire forest.

Fascinating walk-through of a compelling device. Much better than the other video “review” on YouTube. Thank you!

Thanks for the straight forward video! I think a full demo of the reading, annotation, and writing workflow will be necessary remove doubts. The screen and hardware are impressive but daylight has to overcome the stink of android tablet productivity workflows. Anyway, looks good so far and you + team members are setting the right tone online. Hope we can get more commentary from you all!

Reflective LCD tablet!! :D
I swear, it's insane how little I've seen screens like these made ever since the Gameboy line and even the first DS model... because those are the only things to this day that can feasibly work in the sun. It's crazy how we're trying to fight against the sun instead of just using its light! I want to see a lot more of these types of screens, I'd love to see one as an attachable accessory for Steam Deck or Switch for example! You'd just clip it on and bam, it's working perfectly in the sunlight.

It’s nice to see more competition in this market. I’ve been using e paper my entire time as a college student. It’s been great and I never worry about paper ever. It’s saving me from eye strain too!

Very cool you worked on the device, seems like a small world. I've been following the DC-1 project since the first ad release and the S3 interview. It's quite a cool device but very expensive, I really want to see more high quality reviews on the device.

This is exactly the product I've been looking for for years! Thank you for sharing this

An ergonomic enclosure that covers the sides, and back of the device. One with a durable plastic. That has a gap to place your hand through with your armed wrapped around the back of it. This serves as both a handle, and allows someone to maintain more control over it. This is while its in their grasp. Especially, if the person need to coordinate movement in addition to viewing the device.

Would have been nice to see a side by side comparison with an iPad under the same lighting conditions.

When finding the Goldilocks of looking thin, being thin (in terms of length units), and feeling thin (ergonomics), did you use/develop a numerical model, or did you do it by physical trial & error?

Then you for this stream. You are so down to earth and sincere.

Really cool product, I would love to see that play by play if Daylight allows it

Really nice video! I wasn't in the market of buying a (reading) tablet, but your video was still fun to listen to.

Great video. Bought a device and looking forward to using it!

Hope MKBHD gives it a fair shot. Some reviews I saw were poorly done.

You remind me of Louis Rossman's nephew. Really cool to see a stream from someone who actually worked on the product. I'm interest, even though it's kind of out of my price bracket right now. I love my Remarkable 2 and so I fully understand the usefulness of these non-emitting displays.

I wish it has a hand grip like some Lenovo tablets years ago. It also seems like a proper place to store bigger batteries. Most of new tablets are too thin to hold comfortably. Tablets doesn't need to be just thick but also to have a place where your fingers can nest and wrap up.

The fact that it is not made by Apple already makes $700 seem fair enough
