Super-easy tutorial on how to install / sideload apps from unknown sources on Chromecast with Google TV. If you ever wanted to install third-party apps, or any apk that isn't available on the Google Play Store for Android TV, you may encounter difficulty on the new Chromecast with Google TV. While sideloading apps an error appears: "Unknown apps can't be installed by this user". But no worries, we can easily fix this for any app like the Xplore File Manager or any File Manager, Downloader, Filelinked, TVBro, etc.

In order to install apps from unknown sources or sideload apk on the Chromecast with Google TV, you need to enable developer settings.

In order to become a developer, simply go into Settings, System, About, Android TV Version Build and click 5-8 times. Then you will have developer access to your device.

Then Go back to System, Apps, Security & Restrictions, Unknown Sources and enable the option for the specific app you wish to install unknown apps.

As easy as that, you have successfully enabled your Chromecast with Google TV to install Android applications from unknown sources!
