Van Halen - I'll Wait Drum Cover

My drum cover version of Van Halen's I'll Wait.

This song is off their 1984 album and is still my favourite album of theirs to this day. Tried to mimic drummer Alex Van Halen's drum part but as you will see, I messed up in some parts and rushed in others. But I'm okay with it. I'll just blame the off performance on me recovering from being sick and weak the past few days, lol.

Anyway, here it is. Hope you dig it!

It's a straight forward click track, but theres a smoothness, Alex has that brass rolling all the time.

this was a near flawless band. when you have the beethoven of electric guitar and the frank sinatra of 70s/80s hair period hard rock singers in the same band, it is unfairly easy to forget the tasteful classy drumming genius of alex's drum parts and michael anthony's ability to sacrifice flash for the greater purpose of putting together solid, purposeful, nuanced rhythms to hard rock songs like this. it pains me to no end to have to read the baseless meanderings of those who do not have a fckng clue about what they are talking about criticizing Michael Anthony or Alex. the best part is how they rightfully appear to not give a flying fck what anyone thinks.
