The OLED is by far the best version and I've owned all 3! :) Far superior screen and kickstand, best battery life, dockable..it's a no brainer!

I picked up the switch lite earlier this year to have something to play on my downtime for a trip. I’m also a dad that works full time and goes to school, so I only play handheld when I can. It’s so useful when my daughter is asleep and I wanna sneak in a session with my headphones on to keep quiet. Don’t regret my purchase whatsoever.

Being it my late 30's now, I decided to buy the lite because I mostly play the NES, SNES, and other side scrollers. Really gives me that gamegear style nostalgia. I do own a regular switch that I keep docked for Zelda and other larger games mostly, but my lite gets played the most just chilling on the couch, or outside wit a drink.

Got the regular model 2 switch in 2019 (one with the better battery) and I am still happy with it and see little to no point in upgrading just because the screen is bigger. Save your money and wait till a pro hopefully comes and just stick with what you have and remember if it is not broken do not fix it plain and simple.

I believe the $100 difference between Lite and OG is justified. Just to have the option of either docking and being able to detach the joycons is great. I've tried playing Mario Kart 8 with friends and family undocked. It's not a displeasing experience but having it on the TV is much better. My wife and I love Mario Party so the two joycons are a must. Sometimes when I'm sitting at a table I detach the joycons and have the Switch sitting on the table top, getting comfortable on my chair while I use a joycon in each hand. Even lying down, if you get lost in a game it's nice to be able to put the switch down, get yourself comfortable and still be able to play without tiring your hands. OLED is much prettier but what makes me want to save my money is that the processor is exactly the same as the OG. No performance upgrade what so ever. Ethernet port is capped so wifi can probably perform better. I would kill for that sweet new stand tho lol. Now, in terms of storage it is definitely a must to get a micro SD card. 1T tho? I would say only if you Have to buy every release and/or you Only buy digital. Some games are massive but most aren't. I personally got a 400GB Sandisk Ultra. I buy mostly physical, got a few games off the eShop and I still have 322GB left on the card. I don't buy many games since it is a pretty expensive hobby. So I only get ones that Really attract my attention. I got the 400GB as precaution, just in case for some reason I can't get something physical then I at least have a good amount of space to download it. If you're like me then I can even see a 256GB sd card working out for you. Like I said, I got the 400 as a precaution. And those are my 2 Cents on that lol, hope it helps someone out there.

I agree completely. I have both the Lite and the OLED. I didn’t touch my Lite at all for 8 months after I bought my OLED (November 2021 to July 2022). My jaw dropped when I unboxed my OLED after having only a Lite for 2 years. I transferred my account and games from my Lite to my OLED and put the Lite in a case and completely forgot about it.

i have the lite rn, which i enjoy the most. ive played with the original with friends, but my hands cant stand to hold such a tiny controller for too long. i eventually plan to get the oled eventually so i can be able to play some other games that arent available for the lite, but it will probably be another year or so before i could afford that tbh

Great vid! One detail that didn't get exhausted here is having different games on your systems. I have a lite, an OG, and an OLED but I have different games on all of them depending on which would look/feel best.

The Switch Lite is perfect for somebody like me who doesn't have any friends to play it with lol

No but in all seriousness, you're right, if you travel a lot then it is rly helpful that you don't have to also bring along a dock with you for the full experience, and its smaller, lighter frame also helps. That said, i'll be looking forward to a Switch Pro in the future since hopefully it'll have all the pros of Oled and then some.

I'd still say for the heavy traveler the OLED model is the better option for the better screen & larger screen & the bezel being smaller.

Switch lite for me because the whole reason I got it was to not have to fight for tv to play video games.

I’m still rockin my V1 Switch, and as I play 95% of the time in docked mode, I fail to see why I need to to the OLED? Now if there was a Switch Pro, I would definitely upgrade.

Zack, if the company that makes that Fixture accessory made a Switch Lite Fixture, I would definitely be more interested in a Switch Lite. Just wanted to let that be known 😁

I have the Mario edition switch. The internal memory doesn’t warrant an upgrade IMO. I upgraded from a launch system, primarily for the battery life. I play Pokémon on a 4k TV so the lack of an oled is perfectly fine

I’m glad I bought the oled just having a dedicated lan port was enough for me, plus more system memory and a brighter screen, it’s worth the $50

I did the opposite, I bought the OLED first which I still love using but I'm afraid of dropping it if I keep bringing it out doors and only save it for family trips. Not to long ago, I bought the Draiga Pokemon edition Switch lite used for $200 since it's the only lite that looks good and I'm not afraid of touching the screen and use it for Mario Maker 2 the most. I only hate the battery life and I really don't mind the 5.5 inches. I had phones in the past that was 4.7 inches in 2013. My point is get the version your going to use the most.. so far only the battery life is what is making me want to go back to my OLED and just play it tabletop while the lite I have it by my bed and play small portions of SNES Online. SNES games won't kill the lite battery, only hard demanding games and the YouTube app.

I am the exact same way when it comes to the switch Oled vs Steam deck.
Idk man, there's just something about the switch that I can't put into words, I still prefer to play on that unless it is just a night and day difference on the steam deck.
I could honestly see myself selling the steam deck if there ever is a switch pro/2.
But hey, that's just me
Also, as a college student, the portability of both systems is a must. But the switch is obviously more portable.
