That’s so sweet tho, glad ur talking abt ur experiences, reminding us that just bc someone is in prison doesn’t make them any less human, I think a lot of us forget that 💜

Had a girl with Hep C get thrown into our block. She had a seizure and stopped breathing. Every girl was frantically calling buttons begging for help. Another girl started CPR. Took over 15 minutes to get her help. They really don't care if you straight up die in there.

There was a diabetic girl in with me & we all had to pound on the doors & scream really loud to get the CO’s attention because she was having an emergency & really needed help.

That is just horrible. People with diabetes NEED access to their diabetic supplies, as it's literally life or death for them.

It really upsetting how they treat inmates more like animals-

I have a seizure disorder and only have went to jail once in my entire life and it was the most awful experience of my life. I didn't get my meds and seized, I am very scared/violent when I come out of my Seizures, they tied me down face first on a concrete slab and left me there for hours for something I couldn't help. Most embarrassing and humiliating thing I ever went through.

My uncle died in prison because of straight up negligence lack of health care.

fun fact: American prisons have one of the highest amputation rates. this is because of the poor level of diabetes care.

We had an inmate in our unit go into a diabetic coma and died after she begged for her insulin for hours. Her family sued the crap out of PWCC/IDOC (Idaho Women's Prison).

I know someone who was released from prison only because it was too expensive to pay for his condition the judge literally said he was such a waste of life they aren't going to spend the money to keep him alive till his sentence is over

It's a blessing when women and people in general look out for each other. Speaking as a woman, we definitely should be nicer to each other.

My brother went to jail Friday for getting into a fight and defending himself. He has epilepsy and seizures and needs medicine. I been crying non stop praying he’s getting medicine and getting checked on! He has court Tuesday afternoon so please pray since it’s his first ever time going to jail he gets out or gets bail reduced to get him out. The man lied on my brother! I’m so upset!!!

Here in AZ a diabetic woman in jail was begging for help and they ignored her, actually they punished her by handcuffing her to I believe the cell bed. She died. 💔 That was back when Joe Arpio was the sheriff, he encouraged things like that because he said “people in jail don’t deserve to be treated like people” it makes me so sick and disgusted. I don’t think our current sheriff Paul Penzone would stand for that, but who knows when it comes to the corrupt asshole guards. It’s so fucked up. Most people there shouldn’t even be in jail, they should be in rehab and therapy.

That is my number one motivation for keeping myself out of trouble, I'm type one diabetic and ive heard horror stories of people not receiving insulin and dying a slow painful death from it

My husband just got a job as a county jail nurse. He’s very compassionate. He also does hospice work too. He’s had inmates report to the doctor that he’s a nice nurse.
