I think android 12 will make most of substratum's benefits available like changing ui color.

The irony is that Google's own Pixel doesn't allow custom icon and in order to achieve that you have to apply a custom launcher, but your gesture navigation messes up the home screen animation. I was honestly waiting with baited breath that Android 12 might change the policy by either going for the addition of custom icons or fixing the gesture navigation issues, but alas, none of those stuff happened. Nova Launcher v7 only solved the problem of app opening/closing animation, but there are subsequent issues that Google needs to tackle. Otherwise, I don't see any future for the custom launcher industry.
