Gideon will also use Comet Azur if you don't get it from the Primeval Sorcerer yourself in Sellen's quest line.
What do you think of Gideon?
(P.S. Do you like what happens to him in the convergence mod?)

this is what makes using Frenzy incantations on him so satisfying. The one magic he couldn't/wouldn't learn

For someone with the name All-Knowing he definitely didn't see us ramming a giant weapon up his ass and tossing him aside like a wet noodle. Its ironic that the one time he actually does something himself he's a complete pushover. A well deserved fate for such a person.

I like to imagine that while waiting for us Gideon met Godfrey and started monologuing but immediately stopped when he realized he wasn't us and let him through because he got scared. Something like: "ah, I knew you'd co... Oh hello sir, no believe me I wasn't talking to you I thought you were someone else, please allow me to clear out of the way"

“Ah i knew you would come, to stand before the elden ri-“
“I know in my bones”

remember, his first dialogue to us is "you may let your guard down"

Gideon: uses everything he has scavenged from all the bosses we killed
my frenzied ass about to hug him to death: 🔥👄🔥

I like Gideon. One of my favourites.
On my fist playthrough I played as a faith/intellegents mage so i could use every spell i picked up. And I practically combed the whole game, exploring every landmark and dungeon as well as killing every boss and miniboss to try and find every quest character and lore significant item in the game, while brutally murdering anything on my way with my magnificent spells. So a NPC that sought knowlege and traded it for new spells seemed pretty cool to me; only to end up faceing him in the end, both of us armed with powerful, high stat spells.
So yeah, Gideon just ended up as a mirror to my first character and thats all very cool.

Amazing how much detail they put into a boss that's going to spend 90% of the fight on the ground.

Ahh. That's what triggers Ensha's invasion! Never realised
mangoman
>calls himself all-knowing
>attempts to drink empty flask mid fight

Fun fact: if you learn Comet Azur, he will NOT use it during the fight, but he will if you haven't got it during Sellens questline. I like to imagine that Azur only bestowed the knowledge to one worthy person, and it's either you or Gideon armed with the spoils of all of your accomplishments.

I don’t think we get to judge Gideon for breaking into the bosses homes, stealing their things and looting their corpses. We basically do just that but we add murder charges on top of everything else.
SorowFame
For all knowing, he sure didn’t see the giant bonk coming during his monologue.
Firefuzz
Had no idea he had all those moves. He was dead the second he stopped talking for me

Gideon’s abilities are tied to your conversations with him. If you tell him nothing, he learns nothing.
belglacius
he is like patches' smarter older brother.
where patches points to a hole then immediately kicks you into it hoping to get your loot, gideon points to a hole and waits for you to build a ladder and kill the baddies inside it hoping to get the loot you missed
mhc
At least patches acknowledges being a thief, Gideon parades around like he owns the place
joshuasingh
Gideon the all-spamming
Gideon the all-stalking
Gideon the all-copying
Gideon the all-fp
Kaz-lftl
He isn't the wise owl. He's the scheming vulture, soaring high above watching and waiting for his food to die so he can scavenge the corpses.
