The 4-1-4-1 concedes a lot of goals, especially with how you are setting it up. Two playmakers and 2 inside forwards makes the structure incredibly narrow and can make the inside forwards bump with the playmaker. I think the sol is to put your cdm to half back, and put your RB and LB on wingbacks with attacking duty, also put both your CDs to ball playing defender. Also put both your CMs to central mid with attacking duty.
